made a physically disabled gay bear flag mainly for myself since apart of the bear identity can be about masculinity, and being disabled can often be seen as ‘challenging’ masculinity or making you ‘less masculine’, so I wanted a disabled bear flag to sort of fight back at that notion and reclaim the idea that being disabled means being less masculine or that being disabled is bad. Colors are based on mixing the blue placard type color with the bear flag colors as that’s a color associated with physical disabilities as a whole and it’s used for lots of things (like the emoji ♿ we often use to represent ourselves). Anybody can use and I don’t play the disability police by any means, whether visible or not.
[Flag description: Flag has 7 horizontal stripes with the colors from top to bottom being purple, pink, yellow, beige, white, steel blue, and deep blue. There is a pale black gay bear symbol in the left hand corner of the flag with a white moving disabled logo in the center of the paw pad. The flag colors are cool tones. End of description.]
