Ambiaffectionate Flag

  • Ambiaffection is being able to enjoy, want, or have both Monoaffectionate (link) and Polyaffectionate (link) relationships; having affection/ate ambivalence. It is an alternative to Ambiamory that is used most often by aromantics and aro-specs.
  • Ambiaffectionate relationships are based on tertiary attractions, such as intimate platonic, queerplatonic, and alterous relationships. Ambiaffectionate people can have any orientation, however many are aromantic.
  • The flag’s format is based off of the Polyaffectionate/Polyaffection flag as well as the Monoaffectionate/Monoaffection flag. The colors are inspired by those flags as well as the aromantic flag (link). The Alpha symbol is taken from the Ambiamory flag(s).

Context:

Monoaffection is having or wanting a non-romantic intimate relationship with exclusively one other person. It is an alternative to monoamory that is used most often by aromantics and aro-specs.

Ambiamory means being capable to enjoy being part of both monoamorous and polyamorous relationships. Not to be confused with biamory, it’s about amorous ambivalence. Biamory means one can only feel love or sexual response for two individuals at a time.
