anon: I’m a gnc solarian woman who uses he/him, I’m a pleonotic man. I’m alterous and asexual, I’m attracted to guys but due to my complicated relationship with gender my attraction to men doesn’t exactly feel ‘straight’ rather more queer, is this wrong? and if not is there a term for this?
if you feel it’s not straight, then it isn’t. and mascic is an umbrella term for being attracted to guys and a standalone label for non-straight attraction to men. and queer is perfectly fine. I know some people use turian (or veldian) for queer attraction to men (because it’s the non-female version of lesbian and some people define lesbian as queer attraction to women), while grouped with gay men. floric is more specific but also more open, it’s non-woman attracted to non-women. virescin was also a term for being gay-aligned.
Context:
Solarian is a non-binary gender or gender alignment from the galactian alignment system. Solarian is used to refer to non-binary people who are man-aligned and/or masculine-aligned.
Pleonotic is a term for those who identify with certain gender term(s), but does not use/does not identify with other terms typically synonymous with that identity (eg. someone who identifies as a Boy but not as a Man).
Alterous Attraction is a form of emotional attraction. It describes a feeling that is not necessarily platonic, but also is not romantic in nature.
Mascic is an umbrella term to describe any attraction to men or masculine aligned individuals and a standalone term as a non-straight orientation.
Floric is an orientation characterized by being a non-woman attracted to or desiring/having relationships with other non-women. This attraction does not have to be exclusive.
Virescin is a term for all gay men, gay man-aligned people, and non-aligned people who are gay for men, meaning men-loving men and non-binary-loving-men.
