“Alpha” biologically within its universe refers to those with a certain hormone and pheromone profile. In biological females, the presence of variant genitalia is often also an indicator of being alpha.
As a gender, alphas are typically seen as domineering and full of vitality. Their stereotype lines up with many traits seen as masculine: Strength, confidence, and hardiness, for example. However, they are rarely seen as particularly professional, composed, or methodical.
