An identity system centred around attraction & gender labels that are affected or created by abuse and/or trauma. There are four subcategories of identiagonia; agonic, doloric, cicatrixic & tristitic.

Agonic Identities [general trauma]

Genderagonic

Gender + agonia [latin; agony]

A term to describe how any type of trauma or abuse can affect one’s gender or relationship to it. The label can be used as a descriptor or a label on its own. This label is not inherently LGBTQ+ and can be used by anybody, cis or not, as long as they feel their trauma affects their gender.

This can include but is not limited to; how dysphoria is present, how one feels about certain aspects of transition because what fits your gender presentation may simultaneously be triggering, having a poor perception of your gender, etc.

Agoniromantic

Agonia [latin; agony] + romantic

A term to describe how any type of trauma or abuse can affect one’s romantic attraction or romantic relationships. The label can be used as a descriptor or a label on its own. This label is not inherently LGBTQ+ and can be used by anybody, alloromantic or not, as long as they feel their trauma affects their romantic attraction or relationships.

This can include but is not limited to; having an aversion to romance because of trauma, feeling a desperate need for romantic relationships due to lack of self-worth, navigating romantic relationships constantly on guard, rushing into romantic relationships, feeling repulsion towards certain genders because of trauma, etc.

Agonisexual

A term to describe how any type of trauma or abuse can affect one’s sexual attraction or sexual relationships. The label can be used as a descriptor or a label on its own. This label is not inherently LGBTQ+ and can be used by anybody, allosexual or not, as long as they feel their trauma affects their sexual attraction or relationships.

This can include but is not limited to; having an aversion to sex because of trauma, being self-destructive through sexual relationships, having genital preferences due to trauma, etc.

Doloric Identities [sexual trauma]

Gender + dolor [latin; pain, sorrow, heartache]

A term to describe how sexual trauma or abuse can affect one’s gender or relationship to it. The label can be used as a descriptor or a label on its own. This label is not inherently LGBTQ+ and can be used by anybody, cis or not, as long as they feel their trauma affects their gender.

This can include but is not limited to; having repulsion towards your genitalia or body that could be mistaken for dysphoria but is specifically from trauma, being afraid of the gender you’re transitioning to which makes it hard to use the bathrooms that fit you because of trauma, having a poor perception of your gender, etc.


Doloriromantic
