Inanis Flag (coins-for-the-moth)

coins-for-the-moth:

Inanis

[ih-nah-nis]

Inanis is an inherently non-human identity, it is not human and can’t be understood by human concepts of gender, orientation, or other identifiers. It can only be used by non-human or alterhuman individuals who feel a disconnect from the human understanding of the identity in question. It can be a gender, orientation, or anything else that the individual feels applicable.

This term can be used on its own or in tandem with any identity to describe what human ideas are similar to the experience of the individual. For example an Inanis man is not a “man” because they aren’t human and don’t have a human gender, but their experience (in this world and by its standards) is similar or akin to that of a man, an Inanis allosexual person experiences allosexuality through a unique lense because of their alterhumanity, etc.

This may also be used as a gender modality to imply that one lacks an AGAB due to not being (fully) human and therefore isn’t cis nor trans.

※ Etymology: lat. inanis – in vain, empty

※ Notes: We coined this term a while ago (~Nov 2020), I’m aware that there’s likely terms that are similar in definition, but I haven’t seen one that quite emcompasses all the aspects we wanted.

This term may be grouped under kenochoric, so I added the flag on the right which uses the kenochoric flag format.
