Dissociative Borderline Flag (highanon)

Dissociative Borderline/Trauma Borderline

A term for those who qualify as having BPD but only when DID, dissociative, or other trauma disorder/symptoms are more severe.

This is a label for dissociative/traumatized folk who “only sometimes” have BPD/have BPD symptoms due to traumatic responses.

A lot of people with DID are misdiagnosed with BPD due to technically fitting the criteria at the time of being checked out, but then un-diagnosed with BPD once their DID is discovered due to the BPD symptoms improving or even going away completely as the DID/trauma symptoms improve.

This isn’t to say you cannot genuinely have both BPD and DID. They are absolutely comorbid. This label is for people who may have been misdiagnosed then undiagnosed with BPD but still identify with some or all traits when having a trauma response.
