Chronosian is an umbrella term for those who perceive their age differently than what their body physically is, either all of of the time or periodically. This may include people who are neurodivergent in some sense, pluralsystem members, ageregressors, being trauma-stuck, and much more. It is generally synonymous with the term “chrono-peculiar.”
Chronosian may include those who consider themselves to simply be at an older or younger age perceptually compared to their body, it may include those who are age-vague or ageless, those who feel ancient, and those who simply feel that their age is “weird,” or perceived differently for some reason. Any experience in which one’s perception of their age and their physical body age do not fit may be considered chronosian.
The term is considered a separate, but generally similar experience to labels like altage. Generally, this is a term for those who feel that the other labels simply don’t work for them for whatever reason, whether it be discomfort, personal preference, or otherwise. Chronosian is also inclusive of age regressors, age dreamers, and others who may not personally feel included under other labels.
The prefix and suffix for chronosian terms is chro or chrono. For instance, you may be chronoless, chrofluid, achro, and things like that. Chronosian terms are generally not created with ‘age’ as a suffix or prefix, to distinguish itself from the other terms in a unique way.
This term is not inclusive of those who wish to use it for harm. Those who are bodily adults should not be dating people who are underage. Pedophilia should not be acted upon, and being chronosian, or just having a different perceived age in general, is not an excuse to be a predator in any way, shape, or form. Body age matters most when it comes to laws, dating, attraction, and adjacent. I do not consent to this term being used by people who disagree.
