The shape is based on an association between “radeviant” and “radiant”, or “radial”. The colors are vaguely referencing particular identities: there’s lavender as a metaphor for queerness, pink from the transid flag, teal from the paraphilia flag, gold from the autistic infinity sign and this disability flag (link) as a united symbol of neurodivergence and disability. Black stands for a potential to include more.
Grey is a more complicated idea, I think it may be possible to put various other colors there as symbols of highlighting particular identities – like black and brown stripes for people of color on the LGBT flag. So grey is a placeholder color.
