People turn their brains off whenever they hear or read the two words, “Sex offender”, like an NPC in a video game.
If you add that someone is a sex offender to their description, they will feel an irrational urge to rape or hurt them (re: prison rape jokes), despite not even hearing what they did. They will approve of inhumane torture. It could’ve been pissing in public or sex in the bathroom. If you have dark skin, you are more vulnerable to the police because police as an institution are extremely racist and classist. God help you if you’re queer, disabled, and/or a paraphile. They don’t want them to change. It’s just senseless violence.
In some places, children as young as 9 can be put on the registry.
