This is a flag for people that want to recycle or use old psychiatry labels that are not used nowadays such as Asperger’s, ADD, the 4 types of schizophrenia and etc.
They want to use it for many reasons, for comfort, because they prefer others to see their neurodivergence with the old label, they think that’s better for themselves etc
There’s no wrong and right to identify with this term, it’s up to you to choose what’s better for yourself. Some people with autism may prefer to use Asperger’s if they have it instead of autism, but we don’t need to criticize the opinions of others.
