X= Trans identity
Z= Cis identity
- A disconnection from Z, and feeling more comfortable with X
- Trauma associated with Z, and feeling as though they shouldn’t have Z
- Wanting X, wanting to be X, or thinking that they are meant to be X
- Identifying with X out of spite
- Thinking that Z should be associated differently
- Suffering from Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder, which can cause a loss of identity or complications with identity
