Transcompassionism: knowledge that Gender Dysphoria is a mental illness classified in the DSM by clinically significant distress about one’s sex characteristics and/or assigned gender relative to the gender they are; knowledge that gender incongruence – a difference between one’s experienced gender and their assigned gender – is what makes someone trans rather than Gender Dysphoria; belief that trans people are not inherently a mental illness; belief that a person can choose whatever and however many labels to describe their gender as they please; belief that experimentation with labels, names, and pronouns is okay; support for pronoun and other forms of gender nonconformity
