anon: I’m mutuals with someone who coined a term to explain his disorder, one that is somewhat schizospec but includes physical and mental symptoms. he’s found others who also have the syndrome, or who might be showing signs of it. ive talked to him and i have some signs of it but not the full criteria.i won’t give the full details of who I’m talking about, but i say this just to show that MUDs are not unique to tumblr, people have been coining their own terms to describe their experiences for centuries and it has been very helpful for this friend of mine to conceptualize his experience and figure out what treatments are helpful for it. the doctors weren’t helping him so he came up with his own syndrome and ways to treat it.
