Facts of the matter
- I do not believe paraphiles are bad people for experiencing unconventional attractions, especially considering that they are often born with/develop these attractions at young ages.
- I do not believe paraphiles are bad people for taking pride in having these attractions in a world that makes them feel like irredeemable monsters for it.
- I think that believing that all people of any group should die is bad and usually fascist. I think that being anti-cop and anti-prison except for people you decided are degenerates is bad and fascist. I think the concept of degeneracy is, in general, bad and fascist.
- I think consent has become a very warped concept in our culture and that the phrases “kids [can/can’t] consent” are far too simplistic to agree with at face value. We live in a world where kids are frequently not permitted to even understand their own bodies, a world where natural sexual self-exploration in kids is actively discouraged and treated as shameful. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that sexual encounters between adults and kids are a good idea or that it’s worth risking the potential for harm/trauma; what I’m saying is that I think the phrase “kids can’t consent” and the general attitude of most people who call themselves “anti-contact” is part of a broader problem where we dehumanize youth and treat them as pre/nonsexual beings.
- Meanwhile, applying the very human concept of sexual consent to nonhumans, especially in a world where it’s socially acceptable to physically abuse them for our own gain anyway (including sexually in many industries!), is nonsensical. declaring that there is inherent harm in helping a dog reach orgasm but ONLY when zoophiles do it and NOT when dog breeders do it, for example, is insanely stupid and hypocritical.
- My understanding is that contact labels are not announcements of intent or action: they are labels that denote certain philosophical ideals. Some pro-contact people do just want to legalize sex with kids or animals because they’re horny bastards, yes, i obviously can’t deny that. Others are anarchists, or believe that a truly liberated society would remove most of the seemingly inherent harm done by these types of relationships/encounters. You are free to disagree with them on that, there’s plenty of aspects of the usual pro-contact arguments that I disagree with too. But I find that a lot of our broader goals, like youth/animal/paraphile liberation etc., are things we have in common, and things that we can and should work together on.

Context:
There was (not sure if it’s still happening) an active harassment campaign towards toonimal (this involved threats of reporting them to the FBI and iirc there was also doxxing but I am unsure of the full extent of that). There was also a document about Oddballs (a fedi instance that toonimal helped run) and the activity of other members on there.
