Aplatonic Symbols Post!!

Blue apl Ring (worn any finger, not very widely known as of now but I have discussed it on some discord servers) – can also be a bracelet or other kind of jewelry or even jewelry or accessories with apple motifs as thats another apl symbol!

The color blue – as its in the apl flag and is not found in aro or ace flag thus its distinguished from those identities

Apples – this one is obvious, as apple sounds like apl sort of 🍏🍎

Blue heart – symbol I came up with as a non-friendship heart of sorts 💙

Bees – in my opinion as the apl flag with yellow stripe has bee colors, and like. Apls may or may not like to socialise. Bees have both social and not as social roles afaik so 🐝

Iridescence – like the purple turquoise greenish cream kind thats seen on some coated stainless steel objects (also called rainbow oxidised metal) bc its literally apl flag colors 💜💙💚📀

It would be cool if we had an animal symbol for apls too! Im thinking maybe solitary or not always social animal (tiger comes to mind first to me) but whatever is able to represent aplatonicism is fine

Any additions or suggestions from apls, aplspecs (I include you in apl but just to reiterate that you are included in this too) are welcome! This is not meant to be an exhaustive list and some of these symbols may not have exactly been talked about outside of my posts or discord servers. Preferably symbols should include all apls and aplspecs regardless of platonic favorability/aversion etc.

And suggestions should preferably not be heavily based on aro or ace symbols (I am aware the apl ring was based on ace and aro rings but its to signify anattractional aspects of aplatonicism and is still applicable to apls who arent aro or ace). This is to ensure that aplatonic is seen as its own thing and not just an extension of aro or ace, especially when some apls aren’t either

I would also like to proposition that blue coincide with other apl colors as a symbol simply because I think we deserve it and I myself would like it.

(Obviously not very serious, just my own preference really)

It would definitely though distinguish from other identities that tend to use only one color.

I just think all our colors together is very beautiful.

Also, may I suggest that the apl ring be worn on one’s thumb? Based on this!

Having a blue ring representing aplatonicism on a finger that represents friendship could symbolize our more complex (or nonexistent) relationships with friendship. Idk, just a thought. As to which thumb it would go on, I’m not sure. Maybe one’s dominant hand? I’m just spitballing ideas now, lol. But yeah, this has me excited!💙

Edit 1: (Btw, I also think that those who don’t want to wear the ring on their thumb don’t have to; it’s just a suggestion!)

Edit 2: Also, sorry @aple-h for reblogging your reblog w/o acknowledging anything from it. In my excitement I just kinda reblogged without too much thought about anything other than the suggested apl ring. I like the idea of having all the apl colors together; they’re so pretty! Like finding things that have that color scheme and claiming them, I think you partly meant? Personally I prefer the ring, but to each their own, of course. I guess a reason why I like the ring idea so much is because, ever since I started questioning being aplspec, I wanted to have something that reflected the aro and ace symbols of white and black rings respectively. Though, to be honest, I’m not entirely sure why I want to reflect that. Possibly because being arospec and acespec and having those rings as symbols is so important to me that I wanted to link my aplspec-ness to it as well. But anyway, I hope you have a good day!💙

Edit 3: So I’ve learned that those who are plato-repulsed might not like having the ring on a finger that represents friendship. Which makes sense! I’m plato-favorable and I forgot to take this into account, and for that I’m sorry. Maybe those who are more plato-favorable could wear the ring on their thumb (if they want to) while anyone else can just have the ring on whichever finger? Again, it’s just a suggestion.
