Syndimari Flag (term-repost)

term-repost:

Syndimari: In which you’re allo, but intentionally choose not to distinguish different kinds of attraction and/or relationships from each other. This might be done as a preference, comfort, it just feeling natural, or as a social and/or political statement against amatonormantivity. Can be shortened to “syndi.”

Syndimari people might be able to perfectly distinguish the forms of attraction they feel, but choose not to pursue them differently, or they may know they experience all forms of attraction, but not know or care about what is what. You’re welcome to use this for similar experiences that aren’t discussed here, though.

Of course, people who use this label might technically be in different forms of relationships, but moreso for the sake of the language or the comfort of the other partner(s). They may be in these kinds of relationships, but consider them functionally the same.

For one of us personally, they’re fully allo, but they don’t label the kind of relationships they have with other people; if they do, it’s really just for the sake of convenience. They know they experience all kinds of attraction, but choose to approach relationships based purely on the actions and boundaries of the partners involved, rather than the name of the relationship or attraction type. They may, for instance, kiss, cuddle, and be intimate with people they call “friends,” while people they call “partners” may not be comfortable with any of those things; they just use those words because they prefer them, not because of any set approach to their relationship. This is one example of a real life syndimari person.

This is a sublabel of amari. This can be considered an expression of relationship anarchy and/or being amatopunk, since this would fall under both of those things.

Comes from the French word syndicat and the suffix -mari.
