anon: I’m still learning about radqueer and transID as an ex anti
Why would someone identify as transbigot and any ID under that? /gq
I’m not a transbigot so I can’t answer that question, but if anyone else would like to, that’d be greatly appreciated.
From what I can tell (as someone who is not transharmful, transhateful, or anything under that umbrella!) it can be for multiple, very different reasons! For example:
- Choosing to identify as a tranharmful/transhateful identity due to having gone through someone being harmful/hateful towards them in the past.
- Involutarily identifying as transharmful/transhateful due to [trauma from] having gone through someone being harmful/hateful to them in the past.
- Choosing to identify as a transharmful/transhateful identity due to involuntarily or voluntarily kinning a character or person who was cisharmful/cishateful. They may kin this character/person for many reasons, including but not limited to: trauma, spiritual reasons, hyperfixations, special interests, growing up hearing about them/watching them on tv/reading about them, etc.
- Involuntarily identifying as a transharmful/transhateful identity due to involuntarily or voluntarily kinning a character or person who was cisharmful/cishateful. See reasons in #3.
- Involuntarily or voluntarily identifying as that transharmful/transhateful identity/identities due to hyperfixating on that identity/identities.
- Identifying as a transharmful/transhateful identity out of spite, or because why not?
- Identifying as a transharmful/transhateful identity because you felt like you should have been that. This could be for several reasons. Honestly, I’m not sure about the reasons for this one? But also, I don’t feel like anyone owes me an explanation, so I’m fine with that.
- Identifying as a tranharmful/transhateful identity due to having internalized feelings against yourself.
