[First column] Transrace:
Being adopted into a family different from your birth race
Being mixed race and feeling more connected to one part of your heritage overe another
Feeling like your skin isn’t light or dark enough to ‘pass’ as a certain race
Guilt, trauma, or oppression
Growing up in an area populated by one race over another and imprinting
[Second column] Transabled:
Disorders such as Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID) or Munchausen’s syndrome
Being plural and having a headmate/alter that has different disabilities from the body
Growing out of or recovering from a previous disability
Being fictionkin and/or having a past life and feeling as if you should have that individual’s disability
Getting misdiagnosed with something you don’t have
[Third column] Transharmful:
Internalized emotions that have been instilled into by a bad upbringing
Coping with intrusive thoughts
Previously being XYZ harmful thing and changing your worldview
Having to act like you hate certain groups around your friends and family
Being plural and having a headmate/alter who is hateful, most often due to trauma with that group
[Fourth column] Transtrauma:
Exomemories from kintypes and/or headmates
Feeling as if existing trauma should be worse or different
Feeling as if you deserve more trauma than you got
Kink/paraphilia reasons (this is valid! You can enact whatever fantasies you wish behind closed doors, as it doesn’t hurt anyone!)
Reliving trauma repeatedly through flashbacks
If you encounter an identity you don’t understand, don’t automatically assume that it’s “for fun” or “for the aesthetic.” Instead, ask the individual why they identify the way they do! Chances are, if they’re not a troll, they will have a valid and deep reason for their identity. Run thought experiments. If you had one of these identities, why would you identify in this way?
