I was asked by someone in a server I am in about using spellwork for transitioning, so I’ll share about that now.
You won’t be able to find pre-made spells for most trans identities, so I highly recommend you focus on learning how spells actually work and how to create your own.
Where you should put your focus when it comes to research, you ask?
- The history of spells is a good spot to start if you intend on making this a big part of your transition. It isn’t necessary if you simply want to mess around a bit.
- Casting circles, and other forms of protection to use while doing spells. If you believe in entities, especially malicious ones, know they are more than willing to use your spiritual energy for their own gain if you leave yourself unprotected spiritually
- “The basics” including writing spells, and ingredients if you plan on doing more physical spell work. Learn about the spiritual properties of herbs, oils, gems, and more. Remember that the spiritual properties of these things are not “set in stone” and using what feels right is sometimes a better route to take than following strict rules.

✱ Note: Many are mislead into believing spellwork and witchcraft cannot be practiced by christians or those of monotheistic religions. This is for the most part not true, and I recommend that those with concerns do further research or look within to find what is best for their journey. I should also note that witchcraft and witches are treated as inseparable from Wicca, a religion. This is also inaccurate, as there is no inherent connection between the two despite how common it is that Wiccans consider themselves witches/perform witchcraft.
