HedonQueer – from Hedonism; “the pursuit of pleasure and sensual self-indulgence,” and Queer; “denoting or relating to a sexual or gender identity that does not correspond to established ideas of sexuality and gender, especially heterosexual norms.”

HedonQueer aims to provide a community for those who feel cast out of even queer spaces, and a safe space for anyone looking to indulge themselves and explore their own sexuality, gender, or other forms of identity on their own terms.

Much like the original idea behind RadQueer, HedonQueer is open to anyone who falls outside of sexual, gender or other identification norms, and may be used interchangeably with “Queer.” Specifying HedonQueer flags to others that you are a safe person to be around and you will not judge them for their indulgences and guilty pleasures, and that you yourself practice radical self-indulgence with regards to your identity and sexuality and are proud of it.

HedonQueer is only closed off to those who’s self-indulgence would come to harm oneself or another unconsenting being.

The emoji combo for HedonQueer is 🌈🍇 due to the rainbow being for diversity and the grapes being a symbol of indulgence. An alternate symbol may be 🌈🍒 as the cherries represent ambrosia and aphrodisiacs.
