Short analysis:

“Shota (ショタ)” is a slang word meaning “prepubescent boy” in Japanese. Both “shota” and “shotacon” find their origins in the manga Tetsujin 28. The main character of the series, Shotaro, deeply enamored fans, thus giving a name to their attraction with “shotacon,” with “shota” stemming from that.

Being the masculine version of loli, shota also has plenty of terms being created under it.
