“Identifism.

Identifism is a political ideology surrounding the prioritization of self-determination and bodily autonomy over social norms, traditions, and laws. I created this ideology partially as an alternative to Xenosatanism, though my personal beliefs and values are very present.
The fundamental beliefs of Identifism:

• Fundamentally, the number one belief of Identifism is that bodily autonomy and self-identification are the top priority in moral decisions, and it should be in legal decisions as well. Nothing ever trumps an individuals right to identify themselves as they please and to fully own their bodies and have freedom in what they do with/to it.
• Identifism is inherently, fundamentally pro-consent. Consent is an inherent part of bodily autonomy and may only be overrided in extreme emergency situations where an individual is in life-threatening danger, such as a catastrophic emergency in which an individual is incapable of understanding and making decisions about a situation.
• Identifism is not an inconsiderate stance. You must be kind and considerate to others’ experiences. Your ability to modify your body and define your identity should always be preserved, but you are responsible for the social consequences of your actions and this ideology does not absolve you of such consequences. Respect for others’ identities and experiences is imperative, and invalidation of others is heavily looked down upon.

“Secondary Beliefs of Identifism

(Required beliefs, but not foundational)

• Pro “contradictory” labels such as lesboys/turigirls, bi lesbians/gays, etc. One must respect even identities they don’t fully understand.
• Pro-abortion at any stage. A pregnant person’s bodily autonomy takes priority over a fetus, always, at any stage of pregnancy.
• Self-defense is not an unacceptable violation of autonomy or consent, and is a valid action to take in an attempt to preserve an individuals own life.
• Pro-radqueer (pro-transID, pro-paraphilia. Against the pathologizing of paraphilias and transIDs, and against the belief that those with paraphilias and/or transIDs need to “heal” or “recover” from their identificaiton.)
• Against harassment aimed at individuals for their personal identification, whether in regards to identity or ideology. Intellectual, respectful criticism is allowed and imperative to creating a harmonious environment between individuals and groups. Blind hatred of groups is directly against identifist values.
• Treat people as their identity. If a person proclaims their identity to you, you are expected to treat them as that identity, without requiring justification or explanation. The only exception to this is when that person tells you themselves that they prefer a modified treatment that opposes this rule.
• Laws should revolve around the consent of individuals involved in an action, particularly laws surrounding sexual conduct. This especially, but not exclusively, applies to statutory rape laws.
• Ability to consent is determined on a case-by-case basis, not in a generalized way. Arguments of “[group] cannot consent” are invalid, because ability to consent is based on the whole individual, not specific characteristics.
• Acceptance and legalization of all body modifications, as well as support for professionals to perform said modifications.
• Youth liberation, and the abolition of the age of majority. Minors are owed basic human rights, including the right to self-determination. Minors in current society are an oppressed class seen as acceptable to override the consent of, and that is abhorrent.
• Legalization and destigmitization of incest. Abuse cases will be handled as any other nonconsensual abuse case. Consensual incest is not inherently harmful and should not be restricted legally or socially.
• The choice to recover is a personal one, and should never be enforced against the consent of an individual. It is their right to remain ill if they choose to.
• Pro self harm and legitimization of self-harm as a form of body modificaiton.
• Pro consensual euthenasia. If an individual desires to die, they should have access to a safe, painless, professionally performed end of life.
• Drastic school reform. The current school system is torturous to youth and needs to change. Schooling would be reworked to be beneficial to youth, not to officials and employers. Reform concepts include, but are not limited to: trauma-informed teaching, accessible school environments, abolition of homework, queer-friendly school environments, and a complete reworking of class scheduling.
• Destigmatization and legalization of recreational drug use for all drugs, as well as guidelines for manufacturing safe drugs to be used in safe environments with safe tools. Additionally: expanded and reworked addiction recovery methods.
• A more neutral societal perception of criminals, including violent criminals. The less we demonize and pathologize crime, the more we can understand and avoid harm. Additionally: prison abolition, focus on recovery and care for criminals.
• ACAB. There should be no police force as it exists today. Enforcement of laws should be handled first and foremost by individuals trained in de-escalation and mental health care, either with an additional group specializing in non-harmful restraint and disarming, or with additional training for such acts.”

“Beliefs That Are/Aren’t Contradictory to Identifism

Contradictory:

• Anti-consent and pro-abuse beliefs.
• Ideology-supremacist beliefs (“this ideology is the only correct one” ideologies.)
• Belief that an identity or trait can make any individual inherently evil.
• Belief in punitive justice, and/or vigilante justice.

Non-Contradictory:

• Any contact stance. Though blind hatred or blanket dismissal of other contact stances is not permitted.
• Any religious/spiritual belief.
• Any personal identity.
• Non ideology-supremacist beliefs.
• Anti-bigotry views. The social consequences of bigotry and are not a violation of consent or autonomy.”
