“I saw a post on the alterhuman reddit that was talking about “mentally humans, physically nonhuman” (coining post)

They were wondering about how there were no terms for identifying mentally as a human, but physically nonhuman. So im here to coin the term.

Mensomato, using “mens” meaning “Mentally” and “Somato” meaning “Body”

Another name can be called Anthropozomorphy (or just simply Anthrozogic or anthrozo) “anthropo-” meaning human, “-zomorph” from “zoo-” meaning animal and “-morph” meaning form.

Mensomato, Anthropozomorphy, or just simply anthrozo is a term within the alterhuman community where one identifies mentally as a human being, homosapian, or another species of human, but identifies physically as a nonhuman creature.

This identity can be chosen (otherlink, -Link), non chosen (Otherkin, -Kin), a conection with (Otherhearted, -Hearted), or an identity as (Otherkin, -Kin again). This identity is a very broad term, this term includes living animals, mythical animals, objects, plants, nonearthly beings, fictional beings, and more (basically anything.)

some examples of this goes as followed:

• Someone who identifies as a human mentally, but as a jelly fish physically.
• Someone who is human mentally, but is a tree physically.
• Someone who identifies as/with/etc another species of human mentally, but identifies as (Insert character from game or show here) physically.

A real world example of an anthrozo is a werewolf. Werewolves transform themselves physically while still mentally being a human.

Someones Anthrozo identity is called Anthrozotype, Anthrozogictype, Anthropozomorphytype, or Mensomatotype

A: No, but this identity can be caused by clinical lycanthropy/Psychotic episodes after the episodes pass over

A: Depends on the being who uses this term, they may choose to call it this rather than clinical lycanthropy or vise-versa.

Q: Is this under the therian umbrella?
A: Technically no, since most therians identify mentally as an animal (psychologically, spiritually, etc), however there are holothere therians that identify physically as an animal. This depends on the individual though.

Q: Is this alterhumanity?
A: Yes, since this term fits under the alterhuman umbrella.

Q: Is this otherkin?
A: Again this depends on the being.

Q: Is this transspecies?
A: Technically yes, since identifying physically as an animal or something else is considered transspecies, though it depends on the being if they want to identify that way or not. This term would technically be more under the physical alterhuman identities (PAI) umbrella though.

Q: Is this holothery?
A: Same thing as the transspecies answer, but yes since holothery is a broad term.
