It seems like AroPlane was created around April 2012 by +Lee and Sam on AVEN.
As of March 2016, Mezzo Forte on AVEN commented about how AroPlane’s domain expired and “nobody could get in contact with the person who owned it. Nobody who wanted to keep the site alive had the funds to buy the domain fresh either, so we had no choice but to let AroPlane go. I’d mention Arocalypse because of all the AroPlane users who migrated there, but that site’s domain expired too.”
A different member, Blue Pheonix Ace, reinstated the domain Arocalypse was hosted on (which seemed to be an aromantic forum similar to AroPlane) in April 2016. As of September 2024, the Arocalypse forum still seems to be active.
