“My Version of the Lesbian Flag

The meanings of the colors are as follows –
dark blue – freedom / lesbians of color
blue – diversity / non-cis lesbians
green – hope / disabled lesbians
yellow – energy / neurodivergent lesbians
red – passion / aspec lesbians
I wanted to create something that really showed the beauty, diversity, and uniquity of the lesbian community, so I decided to use many different colors, but with the “cooler” colors positioned on the top of the flag and having only five stripes to distinguish it from the rainbow flag we know and love.
I also wanted to include as many groups of lesbians as possible in the flag, so the meanings of the colors coincide in meaning with a “type” of lesbian. There are so many of us and nobody deserves to be left behind.
Finally, I feel like the flag sort of looks like a very early sunrise, to show that our story is just beginning. Lesbians have always existed and will continue to exist – we are magical and radical beings just by existing and loving other women.
Please keep in mind that this flag is similar to the rainbow one for a reason. No, we aren’t exactly the same as the rest of the LGBTQ+ community, but we’re in this together. Remember to support your fellow siblings in this journey that comes with being different! Every single one of us belongs here!
With love and pride,
Lily 🌺
edit – brighter version

edit 2 – fine tuned version / color changes

In this version I tried to make the colors clash less, and edited them to match up with the descriptions. I also brightened it more and made the overall quality higher. The color meanings are still the same. Please come to me with any critique or suggestions, I would love to hear them!”
