“It’s Reclaiming Time!
Okay so I hate how the terms “good faith identity” and “bad faith identity” are currently used. People use the terms to try to police others identities, project their idea of the faith and intentions behind an identity and moralise the concept of identities.
But I don’t hate the idea of using them a self identifiers to describe somebodies personal feeling about their own identity. I have personally been describing myself as having bad faith identities in private for a while now. So I am taking back the concept!
Bad Faith Identity (BFid for short)

A flag for those who identify as something bad faith. This is only meant to describe ones own feelings about their identity, it is not a statment about the identity in general. E.g if someone identifies as a bad faith transautistic this does not mean they think every transautistic identifies that way in bad faith.
Some reasons people might use this term:
- They identify with something bc of harmful desires/urges
- They identify as something out of spite, anger or other conventionally negative feeling
- They identify as something bc they want to decieve others into thinking they are that thing
- They identify as something purely to annoy others
- A form of self validation for transharmfuls who’s ids might conflict (e.g a trans-antitransid person might call themselves a bad faith transid to validate their urges to see transid as a “harmful” identity)
- Reclaiming a term they’ve had used against them
- They identify as their id for reasons others commonly see as bad faith like a having a fetish for the id, it matching your aesthetic, bc they think it will get them more attention, etc.
- Just a general feeling of bad faithness
- Literally any other reason you want! Go wild!
Note: Just bc you relate to one of the above reasons does not mean you have to use the term. Two people can have similar feelings and still use seperate terms. Only use this term if you want to, nobody is forced to use this.
BF- can be used as a prefix for bad faith identities e.g BFtransid, BFalterhuman, BFplural, BFgay, BFxenogender, etc.
Good Faith Identity (GFid for short)

A flag for those who identify as something good faith. This is only meant to describe ones own feelings about their identity, it is not a statment about the identity in general. E.g if someone identifies as a good faith transautistic this does not mean they think every transautistic identifies that way in good faith. Can be used for literally any reason! Go wild!
GF- can be used as a prefix for good faith identities e.g GFtransid, GFalterhuman, GFplural, GFgay, GFxenogender, etc.
Also Bonus term for those who wanna reject the faith system alltogether!
Afaith identity (AFid for short)

An identity that has no faith at all attached to it. Not bad baith, not good faith, not any faith. Just an identity. Can also be called No Faith identity or Faithless identity.
AF- can be used as a prefix Afaith identities e.g AFtransid, AFalterhuman, AFplural, AFgay, AFxenogender, etc.”
