“My version of cow flag for my cow ass that i doodled in ms paint, original idea and flag post here (cw for bright colours)

also thanks to @oofouchstovehot for hoof idea”
Coined by basyacriptid on June 3, 2024.
From the tags: No hate toward original design! It’s just that I don’t like pink and I’m bright colors sensitive. Anyway really was inspired by bear flag. Black, brown, and beige colorpicked from various cows so they here yeah but they also here like black and brown lines in progressive flag. And meant to represent the inclusion of queer POC (correct me if my wordings are wrong). Greens represent fields and serenity with nature. White is also represents cows fur but it’s more about gender neutrality and trans people inclusion. Oh and it’s milky white btw! Thought that would be cute. Yellow for sun because when I see or think about big fat beautiful women I feel um hot and warm and happy!
Context:
This is a term for fat WLW.
Original Flag (from razzytism or strudel-fatpaws on March 7, 2024):
“WHAT if instead of bear pride for hairy fat men we ALSO had cow pride. for fat women with huge milkers. ok now give me 10000 reblogs a kiss on the cheek and a nobel prize
repost because i made a clerical error in the original post but here’s the flag i propose. yes its cow print. yes im amazing as well

also clarifying the reason the animal i picked was cow is because its a partially satirical reclaiming of the insult “fat cow” or calling fat women cows etc. as like an affirmation thing because cows can be pretty too yknow”

From the Rentry:
What is Cowpride?
Cowpride (alternatively “Cow Sisterhood” or simply “Cow”) is a term I jokingly coined back in April 2024, but due to positive reception, over 8,000 notes on tumblr, and many re-posts onto the likes of Pinterest, I decided it was about time to make this an actual thing.
Inspired by the likes of the Bear Brotherhood Flag and the Feedism/Fat Pride Flag, Cow is meant to parallel the Bear subculture, representing fat hairy women rather than fat hairy men. Despite the term’s seemingly antithetical nature, the term was created in solidarity to Bear.
I initially joked that cowpride represented “fat women with huge milkers,”(src) with the wordplay being milkers in relation to both breasts and cow udders. It was funny, but a lot of people rightfully came and asked me if they could still identify if they had small boobs. The answer is yes! I don’t like to discriminate based on body types so go right ahead.
Cowpride Flags
Cowpride

The definitive version of the Cowpride flag. With more muted colors for accessibility, and an easier-to-represent cow hoof instead of the cow print, this version combines aspects from both my initial version and the butch version. If you’re not sure what version to use, I recommend this one!
Butch Cowpride

Alternate butch design created by cattle-butch. The stripes are color-picked off of cow fur colors (similar to how the bear flag is with bear fur colors), and the cow hoof is placed in the opposite corner to where the bear paw is in the Bear flag. Keep in mind that this version of the flag was designed with butches in mind, while the other two designs were designed for any and all fat lesbians.
Cowpride v1

The old version from the original version of the post that blew up on tumblr. I don’t like it all too much because it was made in about 3 minutes with too vibrant colors, and sloppy, gormlessly placed spots, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it!
Questions & Answers
- Can I identify with the Cowpride flag?
Short answer is that you can do whatever you want forever. I’m no exclusionist, I can’t tell little ol you what to do!
Long answer is that the flag was generally made for fat lesbians, If someone tells you you have to be hairy and/or have big boobs to identify, they’re either lying or were misinformed. If you consider yourself both fat and a lesbian, then go right ahead!
- What do the colors mean?
When I designed the first version of the flag I didn’t think about the colors. Nothing in that flag means anything, thus my dislike for it.
The second version, however, DOES have meaning to it.
- The top three colors of the flag are reminiscent of the trans flag color palette, representing any transfem/transwomen who are fat or identify with Cowpride.
- The gradual pink gradient (or sunset, as I like to call it) represents different possible weight levels of Cowpride, ranging from a little chubby (white) to humongous (deep magenta). Weight is a spectrum of beauty, and the sunset reflects that.
- The symbol in the bottom right is meant to be a cow’s hoof. The reason it’s placed there is so it’s in the opposite corner to the paw in the Bear flag. Superimposing the two flags shows that both the hoof and the paw are pointing in roughly the same direction, representing the solidarity between the two subculture groups.
- The reason I chose pink for the primary color in the flag was due to it being generally known as The Femme Color . and also because i like pink and also because it looks cool
- Can I use these flags for stickers/art/etc?
All three cowpride flags are public domain! I want as many people as possible to be accepting of fat women, so you can do absolutely whatever with the flags. As for the butch version, cattle-butch told me directly “oh you can do fucking whatever with the butch flag” so. If you use it in anything though, we would like to be credited or for you to link back to this rentry page!
- Why call them cows? Isn’t that a bit rude?
- Its a reclaiming of the term! Usually being called a fat cow is rude as hell, but I’m looking to turn it into a complement! Similar to how queer people turned “queer” from a slur into a proud label.
- have you ever seen how pretty cows are. google image search “highland cow” for me really quick just do it. do it
