An identity best described by being a type of gemstone from ‘steven universe’ and that gemstone’s characteristics – its appearance, traits of gems who share that gemstone, the powers and roles of gems who share that gemstone, etc.

i thought of this idea and had to coin it! it’s based on the fact that the only way gems have of categorizing each other is by their gem (rather than, say, by gender, like humans tend to do), so their gemstone is an important personal identity as well as a community they’re part of.

this can be an alterhuman identity or more similar to various non-gender, non-orientation liom identities (things like perspesque, vior, hearthic, etc.)

the term is ‘gem’ + ‘hede’, a middle english suffix similar to ‘hood’ (like ‘brotherhood’, etc.), and the general flag’s colors are from the steven universe logo!
