a term for when one adopts the persona of another being, particularly a fictional character (though could be anything) as a form of masking and/or grounding. This can be voluntary or involuntary.

It is moreso related to the subject’s appearance as opposed to personality traits, abilities, lore etc.,But can include all. Aimed towards those who experience identity confusion/instability and/or depersonalisation, though can be used by anyone if it resonates!

The persovis individual adopts a vis as means of grounding oneself and having a stable, external way to represent oneself. One who is persovis may or may not identify literally as their vis.

Terminology: Persovis is an adjective. Vis is a noun. ie “I am persovis. Currently i am persovis with jane doe” “jane doe is my vis”

Idk if i like the symbol, but it’s there. I like the idea of having a version of the flag, when made with a particular vis in mind, where the centre square contains an image of the vis.

Etymology; persona, visage

(Note: I’m aware this is very similar to other terms such as constelic, idaelius, idenshifter and copinglink. while those definitely could cover this experience, i like having more specific terms for things, and have struggled to find one that fits my experiences well! Idk if this’ll resonate with anyone, really, but I’m happy with it for myself :3)
