Xenoreligion (Xenoreligion) is a term that refers to a religious faith that is not legally, socially, or formally recognized. A xenoreligion may be a practice that somebody personally follows, but hasn’t been widespread. Xenoreligions fall outside of the pre-existing well known ones (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Wicca, etc.) and take on an entirely new approach to existing religious beliefs.

Xenoreligion can act as a stand-alone umbrella term or a noun, similar to MUD. (Ex: I just coined a xenoreligion.)

Subreligion (Subreligion) is a term that refers to a religious faith that is not legally, socially, or formally recognized, but is meant to be a “subcategory” of a pre-existing religion. A subreligion may be a practice that someone personally follows, but hasn’t been widespread. Subreligions are meant to be add-ons or retellings of already existing religions (Ex: a subreligion of Shintuism.) A subreligion can range from changing a few things based on personal belief to an entirely new religion and belief system with already existing deities

Subreligion can act as a stand-alone umbrella term or a noun, similar to MUD. (Ex: Did you see Davetastic’s subreligion? I align with it pretty heavily!)

[/start] A flag with a dark green circle meant to represent a sun, along with bright green diagonal lines getting lighter in color, which are meant to represent rays. [/end]

Fictoreligion (Fictoreligion) is a term that refers to a religious faith that exists within a fictional universe that one may follow. A fictoreligion can be from any media, including one’s own personal creations.

Fictoreligion can act as a standalone umbrella term or a noun, similar to MUD. (ex: I follow a fictoreligion from the universe of Warrior Cats. I choose to follow and believe in Starclan!)
