Jackolanternstance (or Jackstance if you prefer): A blankstance for people who have the time/energy to explain things. It focuses on how from an uninformed perspective, some kinks, paraphilias and identities can seem “scary;” but focuses on the fact that people who identify with those are people, too, and even if you don’t understand something they deserve respect.
This is a term for people who have the patience and time to argue against paramisia and misinformation about paraphiles, who want to express the actual truth (not what radqueers try to claim is the truth) about having a paraphila. The Jack o lantern themeing was chosen because of its association with Halloween. It’s kind of a stretch, but it’s supposed to reference how people are scared on Halloween but it’s all fake, relating that to how uninformed outsiders think paraphiles are scary or dangerous.
People with this stance:
always do a search off of Tumblr/whatever social media website to find more information about something before deciding their feelings on it
support all paraphiles as people and will not judge someone just because they have a paraphilia, not even “the big three”
believe in the idea that identities and experiences that you don’t personally have might seem “scary,” but you still have to respect the people with those experiences
feel capable of arguing against misinformation about paraphilias
sysmedicalism, fakeclaiming, disorder faking on purpose, and ableism
xenophobia, colorism and racism
radqueers, MUDs, fults, xenosatanism and winterqueer
assault and grooming
acting on paras that inherently harm the object of attraction nonconsensually
shipping or headcanons for real life people
calling people “cringe” seriously
involving people who didn’t consent in your kink, such as commenting kink stuff on a reblog of a random uninvolved Tumblr post
ignoring someone’s DNI on purpose
the idea that attraction equals action
This stance supports:
the idea that identities and experiences that you don’t personally have might seem “scary,” but you still have to respect the people with those experiences
all paraphiles as people, including the big three
all kink between consenting individuals (and no, minors and animals cannot consent properly)
making a safe space for former radqueers
