NPD Flag (guidedmal)

guidedmal:

⋆ ⸝⸝ narcissistic personality disorder flag.

a flag bringing acceptance to people with narcissistic personality disorder. pink is the color of self-love, orange as pride, yellow as covetousness and hope.

i have decided on the yin-yang symbol because of this blog post. (link) i don’t particularly like the phrasing about people with npd on that post, so minor warning, but i do like how it phrases the yin and yang of narcissism.

this flag is for people with NPD only. i may later on make a flag for anyone to use, showing a safe space for pwnpd or that they love someone with npd.

The Yang is that which is manifest; it is what we see on the surface, the Yin force, meanwhile, is its reciprocal- that which lies concealed beneath the surface, the latent force.

[ ID : two nearly identical flags, with seven stripes each, mirrored in the middle. the first flag’s colors, from top to middle, are magenta, salmon-pink, yellow, then light yellow, and the colors are mirrored from the middle down. the second flag has the same colors, and has a yin-yang looking symbol in the center, with two faces facing opposite directions. ]

i have decided to rework the narcissistic personality disorder flag (with help from a friend who also has npd) because i found the “npd awareness” flag with the daffodil/narcissus flower to be insulting. the name is bringing “awareness” to NPD, and does not de-stigmatize the disorder – in fact, may make stigmatization worse. the symbolism is centralized around people with npd being inherently abusive, as it shows that people with npd “are capable of change and recovery” and implies that they need to change. i don’t fuck with that, as someone with npd, and neither do many friends of mine.
