Platform Parasocial Attachment Disorder (PPSAD)
A MUD where someone develops a parasocial connection to someone, causing them to constantly use a platform or do other things to interact with them. if said person stopped using that platform, they person will lose interest in the platform and/or person
Key Symptoms:
Quickly becoming parasocial with someone/somepeople on a certain platform
After becoming parasocial with someone/somepeople, they use the platform constantly, checking to see if the person posted something or said something
A person with PPSAD will often follow the person/people they parasocial with, (ex: such as if they person/people they parasocial with is an artist they will start drawing even if they hated art before)
if the person they are parasocial with gets banned, goes inactive, or quits they will also quickly lose interest in the platform, this doesn’t mean they quit using it but it can lead to that.A person can regain this parasocial relationship, but most likely won’t, instead they might become parasocial with someone else on a different platform and the cycle repeats
