IntrusiveIDs

I’ve never coined a term like this before so bear with me lol. If this has already been coined in some way then sorry but I didn’t see it so…consider this an alt as people say.

The octopus and green colors are inspired by Remus Sanders from Sanders Sides, as Sanders Sides is one of my special interests and honestly he’s the only direct depiction of intrusive thoughts I think I’ve ever seen lol

IntrusiveIDs:

IntrusiveIDs is a term for people who identify with/as something because of their intrusive thoughts. This could be because they’re so prevalent that it affects you enough to identify with it, or in some cases used as a way to cope with/accept them, or whatever other reason one may identify with/as something because of/in relation to their intrusive thoughts

Examples:

someone with intrusive thoughts around pedophilia could identity as an IntrusiveMAP because accepting and identifying with the thoughts instead of pushing them away might make them easier to deal with/less scary

someone with intrusive thoughts about zoophilia might identify as an IntrusiveZoophile because the thoughts are so prevalent they start to get used to or even interested in them/it affects their identity or behavior/transitioning into being a Zoophile would make the thoughts feel less intrusive and more natural/they can no longer tell the difference between what thoughts are intrusive versus something they actually want/etc.

someone might identify as Intrusive-illness or IntrusiveAbled because they get so many intrusive thoughts about possibly having that illness/disability that it starts to feel more real to them, or trying to accept yourself as having the illness/disability would make it less nerve wracking because it’s not a “what if” anymore

someone might identify as IntrusiveRapist/Raped because they have intrusive thoughts about rape and are trying to reclaim it to make themselves feel less scared/guilty, or maybe have felt traumatized by having such intrusive thoughts to the point they start to feel as if they actually did rape/get raped by someone (as the brain often has a hard time telling imagination from reality, so your own intrusive thoughts in a way can more or less gaslight your brain into feeling like it’s actually experienced those things, even to the point of being/feeling traumatized)

etc. etc. many other possibilities

End:

This was made by someone who’s had varying degrees of intrusive thoughts throughout my whole life and have on multiple occasions developed behaviors/feelings/identities because of my intrusive thoughts, or have frequently had intrusive thoughts about behaviors/feelings/identities I already have which often complicates how I feel about them. I haven’t seen a term like this anywhere and figured other people could probably relate to having their intrusive thoughts affect/influence/cause their identity/behaviors/feelings like I have

Only “requirement” I guess for this is to have intrusive thoughts lol but I think most people get intrusive thoughts every once in a while? Don’t quote me on that lol. Anyways but this is also inclusive to TransID folks obviously so TransIntrusiveThoughts beings and TransOCD beings etc etc can use this too

Also here’s the octopus for if yall wanna use him on flags
