Simply put, this flag is for believers in Christ who identify as goth and are part of the goth community and subculture. As someone who’s a believer in Christ and a Christian and who’s also identified as a goth for years now, I’ve always felt like an oddball and an outsider due to how much goth subculture and gothic folks are heavily judged, misjudged, stigmatized and villainized due to conservative culture norms that, in classic form, always smear and look down on anybody that’s different and doesn’t conform to convenientional normie standards. But thankfully there’s a large growing community of believers in Christ like me that are also alt goths and part of the goth/gothic subculture and community, so it helps that I don’t feel by myself. 😊
Christian Goth / Goth Christian Nazarene (BIPOC+ and Jewish inclusive):
Exactly like the flag up top but more explicitly inclusive of Black, Brown and Indigenous believers in Christ of color and of Jews and Jewish believers in Christ (and thus overlapping into interfaith Jewish believers in Christ). Also inclusive of intersex believers in Christ and autistic/neurodivergent and disabled believers in Christ. The word Nazarene is in reference to the historical sect of Jewish believers in Christ–particularly the disciples of Jesus that followed Him–were historically known as and thus the proper word for believers in Christ and that believers in Christ should identify as, along with acknowledging the Biblical, spiritual, historical, theological and cultural connection between Christians and Jews; it also references Nazareth, the town that Jesus grew up in and the town that’s in Palestine and the Palestinian territories (and thus explicitly rooted in pro Palestinian values).
This flag is also explicitly meant to uphold pro social justice values within a Biblical standpoint and is for the purpose of protesting and fighting against right wing conservatism, MAGA conservatism, zionism and Trumpism’s hijacking, co opting, appropriating and commodifying of Christianity, Judaism and goth subculture, is also explicitly anti zionist, anti MAGA, anti MAGA conservatism, anti racist, anti fascist, anti nazist fascism, anti capitalism, anti white supremacy, anti sexism, anti commodification, anti conformity, etc. and upholds values of fighting against antisemitism and anti Palestinian racism and xenophobia that conservative and zionist circles are guilty of perpetuating.
