This one was a bit tricky for me. I didn’t want to clutter the design with unnecessary elements, and I didn’t want to use any symbolism that might alienate anyone, so I think the Hand of Fatima was the right choice. Reading this JWA blog post from last year was what solidified the decision for me. As Leila says in her blog post, the symbol has its connections to many different religions and cultures, and to her it represents unity, peace, and companionship between people and their customs. I really love that interpretation of this symbol, and I think it’s appropriate here.
