✧A Fear/Distrusted Person (FRP/DTP) is a negative Special Person attachment that occurs with individuals with Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD). A FRP is extremely distrusted and is especially subjected to the person with PPD (pwPPD)’s paranoia. Their guard is very high up around their FRP. A FRP may be a former Trusted person who broke the pwPPD’s trust, but they do not have to be.✧

The person with PPD (pwPPD) may find themselves more likely to let their guard down around their TDP more than they can with others. While their TDP may not be completely exempt from the pwPPD’s distrust, the pwPPD may be more rational or easier to be convinced that their TDP can be trusted and will not betray them.”
