For anyone who identifies as Jamaican despite not being Jamaican by heritage! Made mostly for myself since I didn’t see anyone make a flag for this before. Included the original one I made + the simplified one i made! Flag meanings below the cut :3
“The flag colors were largely taken from the original flag. The golden yellow in the center is the original yellow from the flag, representing the sun and the rays changing color shows the changing times, and how Jamaica’s prescence in the world will echo in culture. The black heart in the center is from the original black of the flag, representing the creativity and strength of the people. Its in the center of the sun to show that at its core the Jamaican people will remain strong and creative. The green represents hope and agriculture, like in the original flag, and fades yo be lighter to represent the movement of time. The purple is a new addition; since purple is a royal, unique color to represent the uniqueness of Jamaica and its people, and the regalness of it. It also doubles as representing the sea; however i wanted to avoid using red, white, or blue as a big part of the original flag was the fact that Jamaica was one of the few flags that never used any of those three colors on purpose, as those are the colors on the british flag”
